Fillet of a Quora snake,
In the strategy boil and bake;
Eye of YouTube and toe of banner
Wool of Linkedin, and tongue of Flickr
Facebook status and QR code sting,
Mobile app and twitters wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a strategy broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and strategy caldron bubble.
Yeah. I know. I did a pretty terrible job with Shakespeare's work, he must be turning in his grave but the point I'm trying to make is this - digital strategy has come down to tactics. Just tactics. Social networks, QR codes, apps, avatar apps, banner ads, takeovers, social games and (insert any other digital platform or cliché Facebook execution). Talk to a ‘strategist’ and if he is a regular one (I really mean bad here) he will talk about these, if he is smart, he will talk about leveraging human behaviour in the interest of a brand, taking a customers problem and a brands problem and then using his ability to understand both, then coming up with a SOLUTION that leverages these channels or any RELEVANT channels - creating something that adds value and is participatory.
If you haven't understood my rant, Read this. If you still don't get it, you need to leave this industry. Now.
